Resetting the preferences stopped Photoshop from crashing, but now I need the flash plugin. Can I get that w/o reinstalling CS3?
If not, do I have to uninstall the whole suite before reinstallation?
link for flash plugin:

not sure of what exactly was the issue, maybe a little more description:

Janelle, I see you're interpreting the question to be asking about the Flash Player itself.
When I first read this earlier today I interpreted the question to be referring to a "Flash Player plug-in for Photoshop" (which didn't ring any bells for me). I vaguely imagined being able to open a .swf file into Photoshop somehow. Is / was there such a thing?

yes! you could make the animation in photoshop as a swf.... but i was thinking there was maybe a non related question to photoshop about flash?!? ill guess we have to wait and see what the true question is....
i think i made this when i was in school actually...this EXACT tutorial:

Thanks for your response.
As it turns out, I uninstalled the entire CS3 and reinstalled it. The flash plug-in was actually for SiteGrinder, another PS plug-in for web pages.
I don't get the error message anymore, but wonder why a trial version would affect my existing CS3 version in such a negative way. Photoshop is still acting a little weird
so I'm hoping there isn't a problem elsewhere. My apologies for not being clearer with my question. I was over-frustrated at the time.
Thanks again, you guys rock!
Adobe's installer, er, ah, how should I put this... Sometimes leaves a little to be desired in some ways. Consider the fact that there needs to be a Creative Suite Cleaner Tool... Or that uninstalling a later version is almost guaranteed to break file associations for earlier versions (instead of restoring them).
