Downloading

http://fpdownload.macromedia.com/get/flashplayer/current/install_flash_player_osx.dmg

is -not- the current version of Flash but 11.2... Latest Flash for Mac is currently 11.3.300.268

installing from website will download the latest version, but we need to script the installation/update due to lock-down of Macs (in a public library) and a specific maintenance window

This link work fine 🙂

It appear that only latest version of major number 11 is possible, when changing to version 12 our script need to be rewritten.

I can recommend an approach (if not existing already) to have a LATEST file with the complete uri to the latest version,

cheers,

MBantz

from a bash script I found on the net,

the link in the script refered to http://fpdownload.macromedia.com/get/flashplayer/current/install_flash _player_osx_intel.dmg but Googling a bit found references to the same site/name without _intel

some small amendments to the script has been made and it's working just fine, putting it into service this week, that is, calling the script in the maintenance window for the Macs,

cheers,
