CS6 error creating path

I am getting a error when creating a path in a shape layer,

After Effects error: attempt to get an item from a position outside of list length. (27::12)

and I am not sure what it is trying to tell me. I know of several ways to work around this, so I don't really need those. But I really like the workflow I am used to and would like to use the add arrow to drop in new paths.

I am getting this error on several machines, mac and win. The windows machines are using a quadro fx 1800 and the other is a 4800. The mac is using a geforce gtx 285. So two of those cards are fully qualified for AE CS6, but they shouldn't need to be qualified for a path in a shape layer.

Any ideas as to what the cause of this issue is?

Thanks

Probably one more undiscovered CS6 bug. Report it here: https://www.adobe.com/cfusion/mmform/index.cfm?name=wishform

You're not the only one getting this error.  I brought shape layers into AE CS6 from Illustrator CS6. Everything was sweet and I was animating the layers to where I wanted them. Then I applied a mask but realized it was just a simple shape mask and deleted it.  The mask is gone in the layers panel but is still seen in the composition window.  Now I get this error and my composition window goes black until I turn of and on the visibility when in promptly crashes to a black screen again.  Closing and opening AE does not correct the problem.

Great.  Just got this error as well.  I ended up having to paste it into AE CS5.5 then copy and paste it into AE CS6.  Good fun.
