Whenever I quit AE, the try to relaunch, the program hangs on the startup widow "Cleaning up : ray-traced 3D: Initializing. expect a 1 minute delay" - then it hangs and hangs - The activity monitor shows After Effects not responding, and one of my processors is pegged at 100%.
I've tried removing quicktime components, turning off virus barrier/firewall, trashing prefs, rebuilding permissions. Only a restart of the computer allows me to relaunch AE successfully.
Anyone else experiencing this?
OS X 10.6.8 Snow Leopard
After Effects 11.0.1 CS6
Quad-Core Intel Xeon 2.8 GHz 8 core
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 285
Blackmagic HDLinkPro DVI
The 285 is supported, but you may still have a driver issue somewhere. Well, typical Mac crap, I suppose. Update it, if possible. If that's not an option, then things will probably have to be as they are.
I have the exact same problem. This didn't happen until my most recent GPU driver update and I too am using a GTX 285. REALLY annoying!!!
MacPro 5,1 3.33GHz 6 Core
OSX 10.7.5 (this could be the issue too)
AE CS6 11.0.1
I have a Matrox MXO2 mini, but that's only ever worked occasionally with AE anyway.
Any ideas, greatfully recieved.
I was getting the same error as well.
What I did to fix it was shutting down AE and then deleting the preferences file found here:
Once restarted the issue is resolved.
