Switching between PS6 and other apps

When I switch between Photoshop 6 and other apps, particularly Chrome, I have to actually click the Photoshop icon, sometimes several times to get the system to focus on PS and show those menus. Clicking the window, which works for every other app, doesn't seem to work here. I'm on Snow Leopard 10.6.8 and using the latest PS6.

It's working perfectly on my MacBook setup, running 10.6.8 with one or two external monitors.

    Time to troubleshoot your system.

Having this same issue. Happens almost 50% of the time I cmd+tab back to Photoshop.

This issue is driving me crazy. It's slowing me way down. I have to dink around with the dock in order to switch back to Photoshop. It looks like it's the active application, but most things aren't really clickable. Any solutions to this?
