Hello All,
I am just wondering if anyone could enlighten me on the black magic that is the builder panel
So I understand sort of the bundling process and what happens - you import stacks, that reads the indd doc and links which is exported as a format that the content viewer can read - this bit is all fine
what I don't understand is when you go to upload a local folio to the server side of things.
So I'm currently uploading and watching my blue little bar increase in size EVER SO SLOWLY, but then on top of that a new window appears every now and again with the instruction
"Downloading image"
I don't understand why this happens, I thought after a build everything to that folio was local and you just pushed it to the cloud, but it seems that even though everything is/should be stored in one place on my machine the folio builder is still calling on external assets before upload
It seems like a devilishly complicated process and I would just like to understand the process
If anyone could give any light that would be amazing - maybe I've crossed my wires somewhere in the process but hey ho!
If you are working locally in the panel and use the "Upload to Folio Producer" method, we're doing a lot more than a simple file transfer. Each article isn't just uploaded, but it's also virus-scanned and indexed for sharing and subsequent publishing. Getting from the upload buffer into storage, through virus scanning, and indexed for expedited access requires some additional file transfers since the buffering, storage, unpackaging/scanning, and indexing are happening across different systems to optimize for time via parallelization. What you're seeing are status messages to chart the interim process.
Let me know if you have more questions, thanks.
