Do you mean to create your application to submit to the app store? Try this page in the online help: http://help.adobe.com/en_US/digitalpubsuite/using/WS9293e1fb3b977c5cfa 6ec4613241081b80-8000.html, specifically the topic on Viewer Builder.
I am looking for a specific answer here: What files do I need to add to my binary?
Have produced the custom viewer zip archive, and I have exported my two (iphone4 and ipad3) foilios, now how do I package them to send to apple?
Do I create three zip archives, then zip them together? Do I leave them as an app, and two separate directories and then zip them into one archive? I am looking for precise instruction, and every time I ask, I get referred to a doc that does not have this information. Will you please tell me precisly what files go into this binary, and what format they shoudl be in?
Thank you in advance,
You don't add anything to your binary. You submit the custom viewer to Apple, and the folios are published using the Folio Builder panel at http://digitalpublishing.acrobat.com/.
We have a companion guide for publishing to Apple that walks through how all of this works. You need to log into your account at http://digitalpublishing.acrobat.com/ and in the bottom right corner of the main page is a link for "Publishing Companion Guide for the iPad". It has step-by-step instructions for each type of submission to Apple, including checklists, how to obtain and use the necessary certificates, how to make your folios available for in-app purchase, etc.
One thing to add: my comment above about not adding anything assumes you are doing a multi-issue publication with in-app purchase. If you are trying to do a Single Edition publication then it's slightly different and you do have to include the folio.
If you're doing a Single Edition publication then Colin has a video that walks through how to do it: http://tv.adobe.com/watch/learn-digital-publishing-suite/digital-publi shing-publish-singlefolio-to-ipad/. The second page of Viewer Builder has a field where you specify the location of the exported folio. The resulting application is what you submit to Apple.
We did exactly as directed for multi-issue publications and Apple denid us with "no content." We spoke to a support rep who can't answer us as to what files should be included. I had originally assumed the product ID needed to match the viewer provision, but that same rep said it had no effect.
So we uploaded a viewer and created a multi-issue twice and there is no content. Does the product ID, title, or Publication name come into play here?
Ah! That helps, so the core problem is your in-app purchase content isn't showing up in the library.
Just to confirm, when you say you did what was directed, do you mean the steps on page 24 of the companion guide? The 10 steps there that explain how to create a new piece of in-app purchase content?
Have you tried the sandbox testing steps on page 39 to see if your folios are visible in the library? Are the folios showing up? If not, have you tried the Common iPad Publishing Issues section of the companion guide, starting on page 41?
Which Adobe ID did you specify in the Title ID field of Viewer Builder? Which Adobe ID did you use to publish your folios? They should be the same. As Neil pointed out, if the folios are retail, did you create a Product ID in iTunes Connect and specify that Product ID when publishing the folio?
I understand you're frustrated trying to get this to work It's difficult to diagnose the exact cause of the issue when we aren't clear on what steps you have already tried. Can you please confirm:
1) You've gone through the sandbox testing steps in the companion guide.
2) That your folios showed up correctly in the sandbox testing.
If the folios did not show up correctly in the sandbox testing can you confirm:
1) You've gone through all of the troubleshooting steps outlined in the companion guide, including the steps that do not relate to product ID
2) That the product ID used in iTunes for the in-app purchase item is the same product ID used for the folio in Folio Producer when you published it. In other words, the in-app purchase item should be "com.champpsports.swag.1" in both iTunes and in Folio Producer.
What do you mean when you say the Product ID in the viewer is com.champssports.swag and the product itself is com.champssports.swag.1? You don't specify the Product ID in Viewer Builder unless it's a subscription in-app purchase. You specify the Product ID for a retail folio in the iOS Provisioning Portal and in the Folio Producer Organizer when you publish or update the folio. Are you by any chance using the same Product ID for multiple folios when publishing?
I happened to bump into our Tier 3 tech support team at lunch today and mentioned this to them. Sounds like you have already been in touch with them and they have identified the issue relates to incorrect product IDs. If you are still having issues please call them back and work directly with them for assistance.
