Cold Fusion Administrator ceases to work when server name is changed

Aug 7, 2012 7:54 AM

Help!

We are in the process of upgrading from CF8/Windows 2003/Sun to CF10/Windows 2008R2/IIS.

-On new machine we installed IIS & CF10 and rebuilt our sites.

-We had everything running smoothly. Everything tested and we were confident we were ready to go live.

-On Go-Live day, we took down our existing servers and renamed them, Then we renamed our new servers to the old servers name. Did the same with the IPs.

When we did this our sites stopped working. When we try to login to Cold Fusion Administrator the password is not recognized.

The homepage throws this error...

Erro Executing Database Query.

[Macromedia][SequeLink JDBC Driver]TCP/IP error, connection refused.

When we renamed the server to it's original name everything worked properly.

-We restarted Cold Fusion services

-We searched for mention of server name in config files

-We do have Access DBs we are hitting. There is a known issue where MS Access doesn't have 64-bit drivers. We followed the suggested work around with the DSNs.

We've had no luck diagnosing this issue. Can someone please point us in the right direction? Why would changing server name cause this?
