Dreamweaver 5.5 crashes with Mountain Lion

Jul 31, 2012 1:30 PM

Has anyone managed to get DW5.5 working on Mountain Lion?  Mine crashes on startup every time.  I 'spoke' to the live chat support who told me that Mountain Lion is not supported by Adobe.  How mad is that!

What support number did you call?  I would call back and complain:

    http://www.adobe.com/products/creativesuite/faq.html#lion-os

It's already in their FAQ that it's compatible.  Have you tried the usual steps (#12 & 4)

I have the same problem, it crashes every time. It worked initially when I had upgraded to ML, but started crashing on startup after a few days. I have tried everything, and got it to work for 1 day, but after I started up my computer the next day it started to cash again.

I have run disk repair, repaired permissions, updated Java, reset PRAM, uninstalled Dreamweaver, reinstalled it (set Gatekeeper to "Anywhere"), deleted prefs, deleted Dreamweaver folder from Application support/Adobe folder in library. Checked it wasn't a local account issue by trying to launch it for first time on a differnt account. None of this worked.

I downladed the Dreamweaver 11.5.3 patch from Adobe's website, and that's when it worked for a day. But now none of the above works. I tried the Javascript errors steps SnakEyez02 suggested, but most steps require a version of Dreamweaver that launches.

All my other CS5.5 apps work: Photoshop, Illustrator, Indesign, Flash, Fireworks, Acrobat.

I am now at a loss. Not sure if I should spend the weekend rolling back to Lion.

It works fine now after I deleted all about adobe files even those adobe air, installer, uninstaller, preferences, invisible files....etc. Then reinstall it.

I found another way, you can try to remove all your preferences from your account library, or you can try a half of them, if you're lucky.

I've the same issue, Dreamweaver CS 5.5 in Mountain Lion Crashes all the time when I click in any window with a form to enter any date, for example when I select properties page in the menu modify (cmnd+j), when I click in any sector to enter any data, crashes and... good bye!!!

I read the file system info (menu apple/about mac/more info) and say this:

Jan 30 22:04:50 xxxxxxxxxx.local Dreamweaver[6145]: The function `CGSFlushWindow' is obsolete and will be removed in an upcoming update. Unfortunately, this application, or a library it uses, is using this obsolete function, and is thereby contributing to an overall degradation of system performance. Please use `CGSFlushWindowContentRegion' instead.

PLEASE, can you help me ADOBE????!!!!

Hi mizjanet, I solve the problem when I do the post 6.TenManWate,

when I waste the preferences of Dreamweaver CS 5.5 and repair permissions in two faces: 1. DisckUtility and 2. ACL repair permissions

    Good Luck!

    TenManWate, THX!!!!
