Problems commenting on pdf

I attended a seminar where the course was handed out on a memory key containing an adobe file.  The file is set to allow commenting to be made by adobe products.  Reader X for android says "modifiying the document is not allowed because it is read only"  The document summary states no security and restrictions summary states everything is allowed.  Any idea as to how to work around this issue?

    if you are certain that the document itself is not protected or encrypted in any way, this is likely because either the file itself is marked as read-only, or because your device has the sdcard marked as read-only to apps installed from Google Play by the OS due to a bug in Android. If it is the file that is marked read-only, you may be able to install a file manager app from Google Play to change the permissions.

     

    If it is the Android bug, I unfortunately do not know an easy workaround. This is something that has been reported in Google's Issue tracker:

    Thank you for your answer.  The problem disappeared when I updated the operating system this weekend.
