PSE 10 Organizer layout changes won't stay

Aug 6, 2012 6:28 PM

Upgraded from PSE9 to PSE 10.  Win 7 OS.  Setting the Organizer to display in Folder view, and then adjusting the Photo bin size larger (to the left) does not "take."  It will remain as I set it as long as I remain in that session.  If I close the program and then restart, the Organizer layout has reverted to the default layout with a small Photo bin.  This was automatic in Version 9 and it saved it where I put it.  How do I fix this irritating problem please?

The general suggestion when PSE starts acting goofy is to reset the Preferences.  For the Organizer, rename this file to "oldpsa.prf":

    "C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Elements Organizer\10.0\Organizer\psa.prf"

That is a hidden directory, so you'll have to temporarily allow viewing hidden files in your Folder Options.

Obviously, you'll have to manually change all your Organizer's settings back to what you want.

I am not sure de-installing and reinstalling will help. If you want a clean desinstall, see:

To save the layout, I use one of the scripts in Elements+, an affordable add-on which has a lot of missing features in Elements.

I agree with Michel that re-installing PSE probably won't help, but here is the Adobe documentation for manually removing PSE9, just change the references to "10.0":

    Are you running multiple monitors?

    Michel,

I don't think that E+ targets the Organizer.
