Quick way to advance to next image when applying keywords?

Aug 6, 2012 1:27 PM

I need to apply individual unique keywords to a large (1000+) set of images. Is there a faster way to advance to the next image after applying a keyword than using the mouse to select the next image from the library browser?  A feature similar to the Shift>[rating number] trick to advance to the next image while assigning ratings?

My lack of knowing this trick is killing my productivity by at least a factor of two.

One keyword per image and images are initially without keywords? Use a

smart collection with an "keywords is empty" rule.

Have you tried the Painter (spray can in the bottom toolbar) to apply keywords? That might work for you.

A smart collection with "edit time within 1 hour" might work as well, if

you would like to keep the old keywords. As soon as you touch an image, its

edit time changes an it gets thrown out of the SC.

Use a macro utility to string the RETURN and LEFT ARROW keys together, then assign the sequence to a hot key (e.g., F19). If you're on a Mac, Keyboard Maestro is the way to go.
