Hi,

Yes with your membership to CC you will recieve up to 5 sites for free.

You can access your site's admin and then add your domain after you have purchased from a registrar.  For more details and information please follow the article below.

That is where the problem lies.  When I go there there is no New Domain Button, and at the top of the page it says "You cannot use this feature in a trial site. Please upgrade to a paid plan."  I do have the full Creative Cloud subscription.  I am not sure what the problem is.

It could be that you are trying to upgrade the partner site and not one of your 5 free sites given along with your CC subscription.

Please review the steps needed to create and active your free sites.

So, how do I host these Business Catalyst websites?

     The process has 3 steps:

  • Build a temporary website with Muse or Dreamweaver. The temporary sites will all be already built under the webBasics plan.
  • You will receive an email with the credentials of your website and how to access the Administration Area of your website. You can also access the Administration area of your website from Muse or Dreamweaver.
  • In the Administration area of your website just click “Push Site Live” and the site will change the status from temporary to live.

If still stuck please reach out to our accounts team and provide the site url and adobe ID so we can help sort this out.

Thanks for the help.  But now I have another issue.  I have a temp site up and it is live, I also have my domains pointed and working. I have read the tutorials and must be missing something, I can't locate where you set up a custom email for a domain.  The admin page does not have anything tht says New Email.  What am I doing wrong now?

Hi there, I am from the Business Catalyst Accounts Team.

I can see that you have now successfully upgraded a site called: MainSite / id # 514851 / sub-domain URL: http://gjshorter01.businesscatalyst.com/ with domain added: http://www.gjsimages.com & that you have used one of your 5 Creative Cloud webBasics site for this.

Note, as mentioned by Sid in our Technical Support Team, if you are trying to upgrade the site named: Shorter / id # 514503 / sub-domain URL: http://shorter.businesscatalyst.com/ - this will not be possible as this site is permanently linked as a trial Partner site & it is not possible to upgrade this site under your Creative Cloud membership.

Regarding your further questions, Sid will come back to you via this Forum Post asap with assistance.

I hope this helps.

Cheers,

- Carolyn -

I am not trying to change it, I am trying to add an email address.  How do I do that, I have a test site up and live?

Thanks Caz for confirming.

@bigdigitaldog

I also see that you have correctly pushed live the site "gjsimages.com".  However the reason you cannot create email accounts is because the 5 free sites come with the webBasic plans which unfortunately doesn't allow the usage of our email account services.  You'll need to configure with an external provider or create another site through your portal "https://securesyd.worldsecuresystems.com/PartnerPortal/Index.aspx" and login with your adobe ID.

Cloud membership details with BC: http://forums.adobe.com/docs/DOC-2153

Configuring external mail provider: http://helpx.adobe.com/content/help/en/business-catalyst/partner/set-email-external-email-provider.h...

Hope this clarifies!

That is kind of misleading, I pay the $49 a month for web hosting, I have never herd of web hosting without email.  I am trying to switch everything over from Earthlink, but this is a problem if I do not get email.  How do you upgrade, and how much more are they going to stick me for that?
