Flash "Flickering"?

Hi, I was hoping you would be able to help me with a recent occurring issue;

 

Flash player objects including YouTube videos, Facebook videos and content on sites like SpeedTest.net begin to 'flicker' on and off when clicked, by this I mean for example if I click a video it will tend to turn black (as it should) then white, as if it's not there then continue this process. Sometimes after a period of flickering it will stop although videos will be laggy (even after they've buffered - 360p). This has only recently began occurring and it's becoming a real issue as I'm unable to watch videos and use other site content.

 

I experience this on:
Google Chrome v21.0.1180.60 [Flash Plug-in Version: 11.3.31.222]
Internet Explorer 9 [Using Flash Player Version: 11.3.300.270

 

I run AVG Free and reading other similar posts about this problem I disabled "LinkScanner" as apparently it's said to interfere.

    Could you try both of these test links in the link below and let us know if they both cause the flickering to occur?

    First thank you for your responce. As requested I tested both the HTML5 video and the non-HTML5 video, the HTML5 video didn't flicker although the non-HTML5 video did. Also I've done the following to try and cure this:

     

    - Cleaned up cache, registory and other junk with CCleaner.

    - Disabled "Hardware Acceleration".

    - Disabled "LinkScanner" in AVG.

    hmm, and the output is the same between Chrome and IE?  Could you try to update your video drivers to see if that makes a difference?

     

    Windows: how do I update the device driver for my video/display adapter?

     

    The next step would be to downgrade Flash Player to see if we can determine when this broke.

    Firstly thank you for all your help, the issue is now resolved.

    I followed you instructions in updating the drivers, unfortunately this did not help although when I went back to test the videos in internet explorer I once again recieved a IE Popup saying "Speed up the browser by disabling plug-ins", for once I followed up on this and saw Chrome Frame Plug-in.

     

    I believe the issue lys inside the chrome flash player as once disabling the chrome flash player plug-in and using the flash player software it began working as it should be once again, this also explains why I was experiencing the same problem in IE as it was using Chrome's flash plug-in.

     

    Thanks once again, hopefully this will be helpful to others who experience the same problem.

    I've read enough solved threads that don't end with a solution to get irritated, I only hope somebody with the same issue will find this.
