Flash Player not working

I use Windows XP SP3 & I use Internet Explorer.  Every time I try viewing a newsclip or video, I'm alerted I need to download Adobe Flash Player.  I HAVE Flash Player, so I uninstall it and go to Adobe.com and reinstall the 'latest' version.  This has happened at least 6 times in 2 months!  And, worse, when I download it, the video may STILL not play.  What's wrong and how can I stop this from happening?  Thanks!

    Does Flash work on other sites?  What version is reported when you visit this URL?

    Thanks so much for getting back, Chris.  In a nutshell, once again I deleted Flash and reinstalled it via Adobe.com.  I've got version 11.3.300.268, and YES, I just went to the homepage of Yahoo! and successfully watched a news video.  I don't understand why this happens....it works sometimes and not others!    I guess I'll have to wait until the next time I'm warned I need to have FP in order to watch a video because I can't remember what sites it happens on.

        May I get in touch with you when it happens again?????

    Hi, didn't realize your reply would also come to my email.

        I replied to your questions at 'forums', and just saw this email now.

        Netflix worked just fine, but I think that's silverlight, not flash.

        Tomorrow (later today, that is) I'll try another newsvideo and see what

    gives.  I can't believe that just because I *finally *wrote for help via

    Adobe Forums, Flash will start working correctly for me!

         Wouldn't that be nice, though!
