Outlook import/data merge, possible??

I want to take a calender from Outlook and merge it with or into a formatted table within an inDesign document. Is this possible? Is there a plugin for doing this? I can also export out of Outlook as a CSV file I'm just trying to minimize the amount of time spent reformatting when the calendar changes from the client and they resend me the CSV or Outlook file.

    You could open the CSV file in Excel and then place that with a link. As long as things stay the same in the structure of that file you can just update the link.

     

    You'll need to use table and cell styles to keep from having to reformat the table when you update the link.

    Bob, thanks for the quick reply. Why would I need to open the file first in Excel? Couldn't I place the CSV directly into InDesign without opening in Excel first? Or, are you saying to save the file out in XLS format versus the CSV format?

    Never tried placing a CSV. Give it a try and let me know if it works.
