Print to the AdobePDF printer system crashes

 

Windows 7 64 bit OS, Acrobat Pro or Std 10.1.3 and Office 2007 Pro.  When we Print anything to the PDF printer it works flawlessly unless we try to change the file's name prior to saving it.  If we even click in the file name field prior to actually saving the file the system freezes until we close Word and the File Save Window.  However if we use the convert button on the tool bar say in Word we can chang the name of the file and it saves it just fine, no freeze/crash.  We had the same issue with Windows XP, Office 2003 and 2007 with Acrobat 9.

 

Any ideas or suggestions?

    All I can suggest is to go to the Help menu in Acrobat and do a repair.

    It's always acted this way for us even on Windows XP with a lesser version of Acrobat,  This is a bug,  How does it work for you?  It's fine if we use the convert button on the acrobat tool bar in word.  But it will lock up the system if the user prints to the PDF Printer and tries to edit the name prior to saving the PDF the fist time.  We tell the user's to use the convert option but for whatever reason the want to use the Print to PDF option.

    I found the following two errors in the application event logs after I ran a repair of Acrobat Pro 10.1.3 and restarted.  Logged back on opened a word doc and tried to print to PDF, when I clicked in the name feild to edit the name it froze as it alwasy does for any of our Acrobat user's any time they do the same.
