Mouse behavior in Cp6

Has anybody noticed strange behavior in the mouse in CP6?  It seems to default to "rest of slide".  If you shorten it by moving the start point in the timeline, it cuts the mouse movement short, so you have to set it to specific time.  All that is manageable, but it also disappeared off the timeline to begin with - the mouse bar was there, but empty.  I had to turn it off and back on again, then set the specific time.

 

Very odd.  Not to mention annoying.
