Hi Mark,

It could be that you are trying to upgrade the partner site and not one of your 5 free sites given along with your CC subscription.

Please review the steps needed to create and active your free sites.

So, how do I host these Business Catalyst websites?

     The process has 3 steps:

  • Build a temporary website with Muse or Dreamweaver. The temporary sites will all be already built under the webBasics plan.
  • You will receive an email with the credentials of your website and how to access the Administration Area of your website. You can also access the Administration area of your website from Muse or Dreamweaver.
  • In the Administration area of your website just click “Push Site Live” and the site will change the status from temporary to live.

If still stuck please reach out to our accounts team and provide the site url and adobe ID so we can help sort this out.

The three steps you outlined is EXACTLY (to the letter) what I did. I get

the error when I try to push the site live. Should I delete the site ad try

to create one again from scratch??

No do not delete the site instead provide the site that you are trying to push live.  I'm thinking you might be trying to push your partner site similar to this client's issue below which cannot be made live.  Only sites created within Muse or DW which as part of your cloud membership you'll have 5 free sites.

However provide the site URL and we'll confirm.

Kind regards,

Sure..

I normally worked with other hosting companies (net sol, godaddy, bluehost,

etc..) so I wanted to see what bus catalyst had. I created a test site in

dreamweaver and everything sync'd fine. when I tried to push live it told

me that I needed a cloud subscription. (see info below..)

Hi Mark, I am in the BC accounts team.  I can see that the site (name: Mark Bolden / id # 479076 / sub-domain URL: http://markbolden.businesscatalyst.com/) you are trying to push live is a BC site which is within a Free BC Partner Portal you have setup.  The Partner Portal does not show a Creative Cloud Membership linked to it.

The details of your Partner Portal are showing as, name: Bolden / PP ID # 179788 / membership: Free / user: mark@smartguy.us.

Therefore, to push this site live, you would need to do it from your BC Partner Portal, by logging into: http://www.businesscatalyst.com/Admin/Index.aspx?to=PartnerPortal - with your user: mark@smartguy.us & going to the Clients tab > then upgrading the site from Trial to Live.

If you are trying to use your CCM I will need to ask for assistance from someone in that team but at the moment as I mentioned above, there is no link between your PP & a CCM.

I hope this helps.  Let me know.

Thanks.

Cheers,

- Carolyn -

Hello Carolyn,

I am having the same trouble. I upgrade to a paid cloud account but still do not see the 5 free BC basic sites. My partner code is: FCMKTZ  I'm using Muse to publish. I also have a question on the partner site. Can I edit that site in Muse or Dreamweaver? Thanks for your help.

I had to actually start uninstall and reinstall Creative Cloud for it to recognize my license.
