Adobe Frustrations

Aug 8, 2012 1:37 PM

So I installed CS 6 recently on my Mac Pro running 10.6.8... everything works ok despite some performance sluggishness here & there. I tried to run the uninstallers for CS4 and that's where it all goes wrong.

None of the individual uninstallers worked (except Acrobat)... They all started then hung up with window saying “beginning setup”. Finally I just ran the Adobe Creative Suite Cleaner Tool and that got rid everything except for Dreamweaver & a couple other folders. So I drag that stuff to the trash. Then I have to Trash It to get rid of that crap!

I ran OnyX to perform some maintenance and clean up. Then somehow the Adobe Updater (the thing that keeps giving ERRORS everytime it tries to update an app) that was up in the top menu bar disappeared? Not sure what happened to it, nothing else up there went away. I can only guess the Creative Suite Cleaner Tool went too far.

I see plenty of threads about disabling and getting rid of it but how do you get it back up there?

Adobe's stuff has become increasingly frustrating to deal with... This isn't progress.
