Adding Images Next to a Slider

Aug 8, 2012 2:15 PM

I have this website I am trying to do some work on, one of the things I must do is add 2 images to the sides of the main image which is a slider (3 rotating images on the main page).  I figured this would be a simple drag and drop job, however, when I drop the image into the space it causes the slider to shift down quite a ways, and the image I am adding to implement itself only on the far left of the screen.

Any idea of what I can do to add the 2 images next to the slider? I believe this issue has to do with the margins used to center the image, Is there a way to center them without using margins?

We'd have to see the code on the page to try to help with this.  Can you post a link to the live page, please?

There is no way to guess what code you might have on the page.  Without seeing your code, that's what you are asking us to do.  How would we know what constitutes 'some sort of margin or white space', or what to recommend to avoid it?

The best thing to do is upload to a temporary test folder (that you take down after the problem is solved) and give us a link to it.

    What about the HTML?

The bad news is that I think it's too hard to make this call without seeing the live page.

I can see the slider but it's not centered in the container.  And since you have these mobile queries in your code, it's hard to know how adding an image is going to affect the layout on the alternate sized viewports, etc., etc.  Maybe someone else has some good ideas, but I'm just not willing to guess....

Unfortunately, that image offers very little to aid us in finding the solution for you.

Without an actual working copy of the page on a server that we can look at via a link (temporary file on the server in a temporary folder, have it password protected if you're really worried about anybody finding it by accident), you can try pasting the entire HTML of your page and entire CSS here.

It's a bit of a pain in the backside to try to ferret out a problem that way, so the answer may be very slow in coming.
