required to install an upgrade?

The FAQ isn't clear:

 

I am a Creative Cloud member using the CS6 applications included in my membership. Will I lose access to CS6 when CS7 becomes available in Creative Cloud?

No, if you have downloaded and installed the CS6 versions of the applications, you will continue to have access to them without interruption as long as your membership remains active. When the CS7 versions become available, you will have up to a year to download and install them and they will run on your machine along with CS6 versions

 

When an upgrade to my subscription product becomes available, am I required to install it?

No. You are not required to install any new version of the subscription software, and you have a great deal of flexibility on when you install an upgrade, should you choose to do so. You can continue using your current version of the product at least for one full year after the subsequent version is released.

 

 

So can I use CS6 indefinitely? And will only be able to install CS7 one year after it's release, but can continue to use CS6?

 

Or will I be required to install CS7 within one year of it's release because CS6 will no longer be functional?

    Hi P.Filter,

    Yes, so long as you maintain an active membership that started when CS6 was available. Versions (starting with CS6) that were available when you signed up will continue to be available for five years (after which they will be removed as an option to install) but will continue to work if installed.

     

    And will only be able to install CS7 one year after it's release, but can continue to use CS6?

     

    If you maintained a Creative Cloud Membership that started when CS6 was available, you could use both versions. Customers that sign-up for membership after CS7 launches will only have access to CS7 versions.

     

    Or will I be required to install CS7 within one year of it's release because CS6 will no longer be functional

     

    Whatever versions were available when you signed up will continue to be available to install for five years going forward, same for new versions that are released. All installed versions will continue to work so long as you maintain your subscription.
