Organizer Spawns Multiple Collections

I am having issues with Organizer within Adobe Acrobat 8 Professional.

Whenever I try to open this it firstly takes forever to start, and when it eventually opens there are multiple (over 120) blank collections, none of which I've created and all of which have the names "Collection 1", "Collection 2" or "Collection 3".

Can anyone tell me if they've had similar problems and if so how they've been able to fix them?

    Unfortunately Organizer was known for being temperamental, to say the least. It's why it has been discontinued, and won't have been tested on the latest operating systems.
