Why are multi-state objects so data heavy?

Hi Everyone,

 

Currently doing a variety of different tests on the new i-pad and have discovered my folio size grows a considerable amount once i bring in multi state objects and buttons. Why is this?

    MSOs are rasterized. Rasterized content will increase file size.

    Could you define your meaning of the word rasterize. The images i'm using for this test are already pixels.

    Adding images will certainly increase the file size as well.

     

     

     

    And it would help if you gave us some numbers.

    Of course. Numbers are as follows:

     

    15 page folio (all full page images) at ipad 3 resolution

    No interactivity

    End Size: 1mb

     

    15 page folio (all full page images) at ipad 3 resolution

    incuding x3 full page MSO's with 4 states in each object

    End Size: 15.8mb

     

    Both folios contain the same images.

    I have exactly the same problem... is there any way to control the output resolution of .PNG files generated by MSO's?
