Pan and Zoom Not Working

Greetings...

 

I'm having problems getting the basic Pan and Zoom function to work at all.

 

I'm using InDesign 5.5 and following the instructions here:

Here's what I'm doing:

 

1) Placing my large jpeg image on the page.

2) Using the Selection Tool/arrow to resize the frame (but not the image) to the desired size. 

3) Opening the Control Panel to Pan and Zoom, and checking "On."

 

When I preview on the desktop Adobe Content Viewer, I'm seeing the image in the re-sized frame, but it does not pan and zoom at all within the frame.

 

Any ideas what I could be doing wrong?

    Step 3 should read, "Opening the Overy Lay Creator panel."

    One possibility is that you're not tapping the pan and zoom image to initiate it. Tap, and then pan and zoom.

     

    Another possibility is that you're creating a 1024x768 folio, viewing it on a 2048x1536 iPad, and not making the image large enough (or the view area small enough).
