How do I customize the behaviour (show/hide) of websites in Siteadmin?

Hi,

 

I have a requirement where I need to do additional logic (at run time, not using permissions) to display/hide particular websites in the tree (left) panel of Siteadmin.

 

I digged around but I still have no idea where to start.

    I think I need to extend this "/bin/wcm/siteadmin/tree.json" and add the new logic in there, but where can I find the source???
