Custom Text Color in Form Field

Tags: #color #text #form

I've created a simple form in Acrobat Pro 9.5.0, and am trying to exactly match a text color for the fields that a user will fill in. When I go to Appearance > Color > Text Color > Other Color, none of the dropdown menus for 'Image'  'Palette' or 'Slider' work, and I am left to choose predefined colors.

Has anyone had a similar issue? How can I fix?

If you know the RGB or CMYK values for the color you want, you can set it with JavaScript. Here's a link to more informormation: http://livedocs.adobe.com/acrobat_sdk/9.1/Acrobat9_1_HTMLHelp/JS_API_A croJS.88.260.html

Post again if you need more help.

I have the same problem at the moment in 2013.
My OSX system software was updated and since then, the Color picker slider in Acrobat Pro doesn't function no more.
It is stuck on the Grey slider.
The same Colour Picker is functioning fine in Texteditor.
So it's something between the new OSX system and Acrobat Pro.

I have found a way to switch between the Greyscale slider, the RGB slider, the HSB slider and the CMYK slider.

Use the shortcuts as can be seen in the Colourpicker in texteditor:

    Cmnd 1= Greyscale slider

    Cmnd 2= RGB slider

    Cmnd 3= CMYK slider

    Cmnd 4= HSB slider

You will be able to type in the desired values as before.

Hope this helps others in the mean time.

Acrobat Pro XI is not working. I can select and adjust the colors with sliders, but it does not apply to the text in the field, which remains black. Even after I remove the black from the swatches.

    I'm using Mac OSX 10.8

Have you tired JavaScript to set the fill color?

    Hi Michael,

I'm using OSX 10.7.5 and Acrobat Pro X 10.1.6 with my suggested solution on a MacBook Pro.

Have you tried Acrobat Pro X combined with your OSX 10.8 and my suggestion?

My colleague sitting next to me has OSX 10.8.2 and Acrobat Pro X 10.1.1.

When using my suggestion the colour change works on her MacPro.

Good idea. I should have gone back to my old version of Acrobat. It did work at one point, but I can't figure out why or how. It is inconsistent.
