Can CS3 files be edited in CS6?

Can a file created in CS3 be opened on another computer and edited in CS6?

    Thank you. I'm just doing the layout with Tiff images in hopes I can bring it onto my desktop when I get back and do the touch ups on the smart object photos in CS6. The add the design elements on the background layers then too. Relieved to hear it should work!
