Spry submenu disappears in template

I made a spry horizontal menu with a submenu drop down on my home page.  I then made a template for two other pages on the website and copied the submenu details from the home page exactly for the template.  On my homepage the submenu appears perfectly fine, but for pages which use the template the drop down menu does not appear.  Does anyone have any suggestions for how to fix this?
