Spry menu problem

I'm using DW SpryMenubarHorizontal.css. Because my drop-down menu didn't work correctly with IE I made some changes and it works on all browsers. But when I'm in Split or Design view the drop-down menu covers my text and it is quite difficult to work on the document. How can I change my sprymenu CSS so that I can see the text? Thanks for your help.
