Receiving the error Installation Failed when installing After Effects

I tried several times to download AE both through a trial of Creative Cloud and the "Download Now" button under the product.  One time the download got to 99% and then abruptly quit.  I'm on a Mac using OS 10.6. I have used PS, Illustrator and Indesign rather heavily for several years but have never tried AE.  I wanted to try it and also the Creative Cloud at the same time.

It doesn't look very promising to me. Hope you get yours working.

    Jeranhank are you receiving the same error message as the original poster or should we move your portion of the discussion to a different thread?

    Yes it did say "installation Failed". There was more but unfortunately I did not write everything down.

    I did not want to start it again (after 3 tries and several hours) because I'm on satellite and my bandwidth is limited. I had plenty for the download but now a lot of my available bandwidth has been sucked up. I'm sorry I can't give you the exact error message. I'm afraid to try Creative Cloud now for other apps because I'm afraid they'll get almost done, fail and my bandwidth will be gone.

    I have branched this out to a new discussion.  I would recommend you start with downloading and attempting the installation of the trial of After Effects.  You can locate the trial at http://www.adobe.com/cfusion/tdrc/index.cfm?product=after_effects.  If you are able to successfully install the software then please choose the option to License this Software after it is installed as a trial.  You will then want to enter your Adobe ID tied to your Creative Cloud subscription.

     

    If you continue to experience difficulties then you will want to utilize the Adobe Support Advisor - http://www.adobe.com/support/loganalyzer/ to automatically review your installation logs.  Alternatly, or if you do not receive an actionable result, you may want to review the installation logs manually to determine the source of your difficulties.  You can locate steps on how to accomplish this at Troubleshoot with install logs | CS5, CS5.5, CS6 - http://helpx.adobe.com/creative-suite/kb/troubleshoot-install-logs-cs5 -cs5.html.
