I followed the instructions for clean install and the installer window said an newer updated version is installed.  Then I removed checkmark from active x filtering in IE9.  YouTube videos work.  Facebook games still say download flashplayer.

Yes, ran the uninstaller app.  The gateway laptop has issues with restarting, so it might not be saving the new settings correctly, as have to press the power button on laptop.   Thank you for your time.  I do notice there is program installed called I Want This, might be maleware related.
