I am editing a music video from source footage that has the music on the audio 1 track linked to video 1 track. The music starts a fraction too early and so I want to delay the start very slightly. Is there a way of doing this . Thanks
Mike
Hi Mike,
Yes:
1) Make sure you are in timeline mode, not sceneline mode
2) Right click on the clip in the timeline and select "unlink Audio and video"
3) You can now drag the video and audio independantly on the timeline. To move half a second you will need to zoom in a lot to move it that small of an amount.
4) You will, of course, have "dead air" for 1/2 second at the beginning of the clip however!
Hope that helps!
Bob
When doing fine adjustments to Audio, I like to zoom the Timeline in quite a bit, and also turn Snap OFF (the S key toggels it ON/OFF), to allow for adjustments, without the Audio trying to Snap to any point on the Timeline.
One can also temporarily Unlink the Audio & Video, by Alt+clicking on either, the Audio, or Video. Then, when done, the Linking will come back.
Good luck,
