I have the current version of reader installed on my IPad 3. I am able to fill form fields within forms I have created in Acrobat. However, when emailing the filled form, the data is not retained within the fields.
Can anyone help?
Adobe Reader for iOS supports the AcroForm type forms that a user can create with Acrobat Pro, but not the XFA forms that are created with LiveCycle. There are technical reasons for this, but they are long, detailed, and won't help resolve your question.
From your description, this document may be a variety of PDF form known as a "Static XFA" form, which Adobe Reader for iOS doesn't yet support fully. If you send an example to adobereader-ios@adobe.com we can verify.

Thanks Dennis,
I think you've got to the bottom of the problem here. I have Acrobat Pro 8 and whenever I create a new form, it creates it in Livecycle, which works fine for Windows based applications.
Since your response I have now discovered that by using the, somewhat limited, form capabailities of Acrobat pro (without using Livecycle) I can achieve what I wanted to do, as they are fairly simpleistic forms.
Are livecycle forms likely to be suppported by IOS in the future so that xml data can be saved within the forms?
