Dreamweaver 4

My hard drive crashed and I need to reinstall Dreamweaver 4. I have the license for it, but I can find no link on Adobe to get it. Does one exist somewhere?

    Hello,

     

    hm, all you need to install your DW is your serial number, which written on your DW4 box. On the other hand Adobe has stored it too.

     

    You could use http://helpx.adobe.com/contact/ > My Adobe (translated from my Ger,man Adobe: Mein Adobe) > My Products and Services (trltd.) > https://www.adobe.com/de/account/my-products-services.html (you need your Adobe access data), there you will find your serial number.

     

    You will get this:

    Click your products and your serial number will appear.

    I HAVE the serial number. The software was downloaded. It is version 4. There is no box, and there is no link anywhwere on the page.

    Now clarify this for me.  Is it version 4 or is it Dreamweaver CS4?  If it is Dreamweaver CS4 then you might be lucky to get some help to download from unofficial sites run by Adobe Software reseller, otherwise you are out of luck.

    I'll come back to my advice in a modified version. First you should make use of all possibilities Adobe's "contact" provides here:

    Last but not least (might be it's the best of all) you should/could use Adobe's chat: http://www.adobe.com/support/chat/ivrchat.html, with which I had some good experiences already.

    In the past, Adobe used to provide download links for earlier versions that you had registered. But I've just logged into My Account on the Adobe site to check. All it has now is a list of my serial numbers, but no links to the old software. If you've got the serial number, it might be worth contacting Adobe customer support to see if they can provide you with a link to get another copy.

     

    If that doesn't work, and it is Dreamweaver 4 rather than CS4, there's a download link on the following CNET page: http://download.cnet.com/Dreamweaver/3000-10247_4-4290661.html.

     

    When you click the Download link on that page, you'll see a message warning you that it's hosted on a different site, and that CNET cannot guarantee its security. I didn't follow the link, so I can't say whether it's safe to do do. Proceed with caution.

    I still have a download link as far back as 2003 for MX2004 on one of my Adobe accounts.

     

    Haven't clicked it so I don't know if its live.

    That's interesting that you have it and I don't. I wonder if it's because I've got a Creative Cloud subscription, and Adobe thinks I'll never need the old versions to download again?

     

    FWIW, I usually make a backup of downloaded software, particularly if it's expensive.

    Could be...I'm still deciding whether to join up or just upgrade as and when I need the products. Thats really only every 2/3 years. I'm still using CS4. Not even given the trial of CS6 a spin as yet.

    Me too, a couple of back-ups usually ...but then I forget where they are
