Hi,
I haven't been able to use Dreamweaver since I installed the patch. The program freezes on start up everytime I open it. This is causing huge problems for me I need this program for work.
Orla.
Sorry to hear, Orla.
After it freezes, does it crash or give an error? Or is it simply non-responsive?
If non-responsive, how long have you left it frozen? Sometimes, a freeze is temporary, and if you wait a few seconds or up to a minute or so, it will unfreeze. (Obviously, we would want to still sort out why it is freezing for that period of time, but knowing whether or not it ever recovers from the freeze will help us to fix the problem.)
Oftentimes, clearing the Dreamweaver cache will help with issues like this. See the instructions here to do so: http://forums.adobe.com/message/2260933#2260933
If that does not help, let us know more about your computer configuration (e.g. what operating system and version, what other software you have installed, etc.) and what exact version of Dreamweaver it is.
It would also be helpful if you could describe the exact sequence of events from the time you attempt to start Dreamweaver to the point at which it freezes, and what you see/what occurs directly before the freeze.
Hi,
One of two things happens:
I click the icon to open Dreamweaver and it's non-responsive.
The program opens but then when I open some files it's unresponsive for about 3-4 minutes.
I'm running Dreamweaver 6 with that new patch that you sent me to fix the FTP issue. I haven't been able to test if that has worked.
I cleared the cache but the problem persists.
As I said I'm running CS6 on Mac OSX 10.7.4, I have Design & Web Premium installed.
Can you send me a link to download Dreamweaver CS5? I own that license and I need something to work from until I get this issue resolved.
Thanks for the help,
Orla.
Try clearing your preference file using the technique given at this link:
<http://helpx.adobe.com/dreamweaver/kb/restore-preferences-dreamweaver- cs4-cs5.html>
99% of the time it is to do with the preference file that is corrupted.
Good luck and post back.
