I would like to figure out how to build a custom HD toggle button into a custom video player. My player is based on the template example from the OSMF site & has a MediaPlayer object.
With the OSMF api, the only reference I found to HD was setting the hd-width/height to trigger hardware accelleration.
I had a look at the Strobe Media Player source & saw they have an HD-indicator, not button.
I'm getting quite confused with how to go about this. There is the manifest file that contains all the possible video formats.
How would the player:
- know to show a toggle button or not
- know to show if the toggle button is selected or not
- request the HD stream or non-HD stream
