Why do pages of my Adobe Muse website appear when googled but not the entire website? Is it Muse or Google? Can I change this?
Could you share your website url. Could you please elaborate your query? Is it like when you search for your site on Google, it brings up "sitename.com/page.html" links in results but not "sitename.com"?
Don't you want Google to point you to specifically what you seek, instead of just dropping you off at the front door?
If your front door is not appearing in google, it is likely due to the absence of anything that Google can read. Many new web designers make the mistake of creating a graphics-heavy/text-light splash/welcome page. Your index page should have a full menu and descriptive text that can be read by search engines. Graphic splash pages went out of fashion in the 1990s. Visitors want content, not distracting dazzle.
JHartin, check on Google about SEO (Search Engine Optimization), robots.txt, sitemap.xml and htaccess for you website.
The Google crawlers like to "read" content, so if you have a page without "content" like text, links or image alts, probably this page don´t have relevance for Google to index.
Sorry about my english.
I am sorry for the delay. My url is joanhartindesignllc.com. I do have my name as a logo graphic (with a title and alternate text for that graphic) and as actual text on the bottom for copyright. I have seen websites with a logo graphic only and I was testing one site and googled and the main website appeared without the name as text and not individual pages like mine. I did notice, when viewing the source code, that there was a specific name in the "Title" and that appeared when I googled that site. For my website, viewing the source code, my "title" is "Home". Is that the problem, can I change that to my company name? Or this is all about Google? I have included keywords as well. Again, sorry for the lateness in the reply.
