photos in develop module are different then when in the library.

When i'm editing photos in the develop module they look really clear and good. When i switch to the library, they have a lot of noise and look nothing like how I edited them. I am using lightroom 4 for my mac. It's annoying to have to switch between the develop module and library to see what they are going to look like.

    The most accurate way to view your images is in Develop when set to 1:1 (or greater). Develop previews noise reduction and sharpening at this or greater zoom ratio where Library doesn’t so there is an expected visual disconnect between modules.

    ok thank you very much! So there is no way to view the same when I switch to fit view?

    Not fully. Again, in Library, corrections like NR and sharpness are not applied.

    that´s not 100% correct.... sharpness and NR will be applied in 1:1 view in the library module (LR 4.1)

    My bad, yes, NR and Sharpening can be seen in later versions in Library IF you are at 1:1 or greater. But the color space of the previews is slightly different, best thing to do is always view in Develop for an accurate (and matching) preview of the final image as viewed at the same zoom ratio in Photohsop or similar app.

    The visual differences in the modules even outside 1:1 should not be severe. Considering the work done in the other modules, the precision (and thus speed hit) is more critical in Develop.

    The differences in most cases are unoticeable however I am getting this banding effect on a BW image I am editing and it is very difficult to tell if it is there or not in the the real image.  In Library it shows up as this magenta band in tonal differences and in develop it isnt there.  I looked at the image on my laptop and it doesnt show up there in Bridge but it does show up on Lightroom in the Library module. 

     

    This is pretty lame considering I would be sending this file out to get printed and hoping no banding shows up.  I don't like guessing, that is why my monitor is calibrated etc. 

     

    If anyone has a similar issue or fix let me know.
