We have a client asking us if it is possible to use Flash Media Server (4.5) to enable video calls between users on a desktop/laptop (via browser) and a mobile phone (Android / iOS).
They are currently using FMS 4.5 to let users make two-way video calls through a desktop browser / Flash plugin and speak to one another, and it is fully integrated into their billing system. They'd like to make this functionality available on mobile devices without replacing current infastructure. I know we can support an H264 stream to a mobile device, but can FMS support ingest from the mobile device at the same time? Is there any echo-cancellation built in?
I'm a little out of my element here, any pointers to use cases or feasability studies would be sufficient. We don't need to know how to do it yet, we just need to know if it is possible.
Thanks!
