CS4  Won't export entire timeline

Aug 14, 2012 9:26 AM

Hi again.  This is another "first" for me.  I have a  66 min timeline that I am trying to export to DVD, mpg2 using the Media Decoder.

I have searched and checked the "Help" areas but found no help.

I carefully made sure the sliders just above the timeline were set to include the entire timeline. These are actually the two sliders found on the vertical

hashmarks on the timeline.

Out of the 66 minutes to be exported, only 44 minutes of the video track  was exported.  Here's the

strange part,  all 66 minutes of the audio track  DID export just fine.

Suggestions appreciated.

    Tks,  Tom B.

Instead of using "sliders" just go to the option on the export screen and manually change the setting to export the entire timeline

    Tom,

There are two functions, that can readily affect the Timeline's Export:

    • The WAB (Work Area Bar), which are those two "brackets" with a little square "box" in the middle. See this article for more information: http://forums.adobe.com/thread/869683?tstart=30
    • Timeline In & Out Points, which are set with the keystrokes I and O, and can be accidentally set. Check the gray bar above the Timeline. Do you see different shades of gray? If so, then the Timeline might have In and/or Out Points added to it. Check that too.

    Good luck,

    Hunt

Which part of the timeline is exported is actually determined in the Export Settings like John said.

If you want to export the entire timeline the Set In Point should be al the way to the left and the Set Out Point all the way to the right.

If you dropdown the menu it probably says Entire Sequence.

I'm stumped... I have never had your problem... when I set in/out points and tell PPro to export between those, it does... when I tell PPro to export the entire timeline, it does

    >during the last sequence of the timeline

Hmm... I always have all video on the timeline, and do not use separate sequences for different parts of my total video

I may be misunderstanding... do you have different clips, with all video on the timeline, so each video is "seamlessly" butted up to the previous file?

    Instead of using nested sequences.

Make a new timeline, copy content of all 4 sequence and past this into this new timeline. Make sure there are no gaps.

    Now export.
