How can I import AVI files created by Canon camera?

When importing AVI files created by Canon camera, Premiere Elements 10 says: "This type of file is not supported, or the required codec is not installed".

Where do I get the codec and how do I install it? Thanks.

Your Canon still camera shoots video that uses the MJPEG-AVI codec.

You will need to convert it to a DV-AVI in order to use it in Premiere Elements. How you do that depends on what operating system you're using.
