Hello all.
I've seen recent posts about Photomerge crashing, I tried all the workarounds and remedies to no success. I run as Admin and still crashes, and only Photomerge is causing to crash. All other presets and automates are working just fine. I've deleted all Temp files and App Data, still nothing.
My stats are:
Windows 7 Professional
Intel i7 vPro (2860Qm @ 2.5GHz)
16GB Ram
Nvidia Quadro 2000M (lastest drivers, 266.96)
Scratch disk is 200GB and I'm using about 9GB of Ram
So I don't think it's my computer that's the problem, but either the javascript file for the automate or possible update? Any idea on what else I should check?
Thanks,
Phil
What are your inputs to Photomerge? Raw files by chance?
Try this:
1. Convert the raw files (or whatever files you're using as input) and save separately as PSD files.
2. Start Photomerge from inside a fresh run of Photoshop, choosing File - Automate - Photomerge.
3. Click the Browse button and choose the PSD files you have saved.
4. Try to complete the Photomerge.
With Photoshop CS5 I often found that trying to do raw conversions integrated with the Photomerge process would often yield failures. Fortunately, this seems to be fixed in Photoshop CS6.

You are looking for error flags in the headings. Look especially in the Application heading in the left panel. If you see a flag drill down to find out the specific, especially if it lists the Faulting Module.
This is the OS Event Viewer, or sometimes called the event log or crash log, and PS does not need to be running.
Also, please define "crashes" explicitly, just to make sure we're all on the same page. A screen capture showing the failure would be best.
At this point I'm starting to think you have either badly corrupted preferences or a corrupted installation.
Have you tried clearing Photoshop's preferences to defaults? To do that press and hold Control - Shift - Alt immediately upon cold-starting Photoshop. If you get the keys down quickly enough it will prompt you to confirm deletion of your current preferences. Keep in mind you'll need to re-make any changes to Photoshop's defaults that you've made up to now.

At this point you should try clearing Photoshop's preferences to default, iamzrad. Control-Shift-Alt immediately upon a cold-start of Photoshop. If you get the keys down quickly enough it will prompt you to confirm deletion of your current settings.
If after a preferences reset you still see failures, you likely have other software, such as your display driver, causing Photoshop to crash.
Please review post 9 again, given that you have updated the software, and post your findings about what's in the Error entries in the Application log that correspond with the crashes. Specific information is needed to help you diagnose this further.

I'm sorry, iamzrad, I'm running out of promising ideas...
I've recently had a bad experience with the most recent ATI driver update, and I solved it by completely uninstalling my display drivers, cleaning out the remnants, THEN reinstalling the latest Catalyst 12.8 driver package, which seems to have cleared up some instability. I know you have nVidia, not ATI, but I suppose the same kind fo thing could help.
Only other thing might be that a full uninstall of the Adobe applications themselves and reinstall after might help... Adobe makes a Creative Suite Cleaner Tool to help with that:
