Why does RGB readout on ACR control panel sometimes not come on?

Most of the time when I use RAW, the RGB readout responds when the cursor is passed over the image tones. But every once in a while, it remains blank. How do I turn it back on?

    I use a MacPro running Snow Leopard, 10.6.8, and Photoshop CS 6 with ACR 7.

     

    I got the RGB readout back about 15 minutes after posting yesterday.

    Thanks for the additional info.

     

    I'm hoping Mac experts here will speak up about the possible causes and potential workarounds/fixes.  I haven't seen this issue, and I know PC systems far better than Macs.

    I have never run into this issue and I am also running ACR 7.1 on a Mac with OSX10.6.8.

     

    Assuming that you have sufficient RAM (and I question if anything less than 8 GB is actually sufficient these days) perhaps some basic system maintenance and cache-clearing is needed on your machine?

    It happened again today. I tried purging the cache (no), exiting Bridge and reopening (no), restarting my computer "yes". Having to restart certainly slows my workflow.

     

    Does that indicate a problem with my computer rather than  RAW? But, how does a computer problem only affect  this specific part of RAW, and only at certain times?  Any thoughts?

     

    Another wrinkle. Sometimes instead of a blank RGB readout, I get some numbers, but they don't change as I move my cursor over other parts of the image.
