InDesign PDF Export Problem

PDF Export in InDesign CS6 yields thin, light text. I need accurate rendering in pdf for hardcopy publication. Quality is imperative. Can you please help?  I use Creative Cloud applications.

    In what application are you looking at the PDF? It should be Adobe Reader or Adobe Acrobat. What export setting did you use in File > Export > Adobe PDF (Print)?

    Have you pulled a sample print? On-screen type rendering isn't particularly reliable for judging what you will see in print.

    If you are using Acrobat or Reader try toggling Enhance Thin Lines and/or Smooth Line Art in the preferences

    Thanks very much.  I did indeed need to set my Adobe Acrobat and Reader as you suggested.  Problem solved!!

    As it turns out, it was the monitor setting in my Acrobat and Reader.

    As it turns out, it was merely a monitor setting in my Acrobat and Reader (both new versions)

    You should still pull a test print. Enhance thin lines does exactly waht it says, and can result in type looking too bold onscreen, or some strokes looking heavier than others. Remember, you screen is much lower resolution than a printer or a press, and can oly show things in whole pixels, so ther's a LOT of rounding and hinting going on.
