Macbook pro/mountain lion issues

I have what I believe is the latest version of flash player on my macbook pro. However when I try and watch a video which requires it I simply get a message saying I do not have the correct version and I should download it. I have reinstalled it several times and also removed it from my computer before doing this. I can see in Finder that the flash player is there on the computer but still the videos will not work. Help please!

Which browser or browsers are you using when you see this problem? What do you see when you go to: http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/ ? Is this a problem with any Flash site or a specific Flash site?
