non-working flash player

Aug 16, 2012 3:30 AM

Struggled imensely to download flash player. Now that it is finally on the hard drive, it does not operate. The message I get remains the same: download flash player. Cannot look at any attachments sent to me. Most irritating. Cannot seem to chat to someone either for possible help. Is there an immediate response option from adobe?

Flash Player Help | Installation problems | Flash Player | Windows

Flash Player Help | Installation problems | Mac OS

There is no personal handholding for free player/ runtime products. if you have further problems, come back and provide more info about your system, possible error messages and whatever you think might help us help you....

What is your operating system & version?

    What is your web browser?

You write that you downloaded Flash Player; did you also install it?

    Adrian,

Could you please check if ActiveX Filtering is disabled in Internet Explorer 9?

Click Tools > Safety and the deselect ActiveX Filtering.

    Thanks,

    Sunil

    Andrian,

Could you please go to the following site and let us know what it says about the Flash Player status: http://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/kb/find-version-flash-player.html

Also, please ensure that you did the following:

    Enable JavaScript (First step)

    Enable Flash Player plugin

If it doesn't work, please let me know what you meant by initializing Flash Player?

    Thanks,

    Sunil

    Andran,

Flash Player is a browser plug-in and that's why you don't see it in the Programs. Being available in the Control Panel indicates that it's installed in your machine. We are glad that you could solve the issue. And, your reply is marked to all members.

    Thanks,

    Sunil
