Locking down Ai files

Aug 16, 2012 10:48 AM

How do you lockdown an AI file or rather hold ownership to it even if someone else is allowed to edit the file. BAsiclaly I want someone else to use the file for printing or say for animation. In this case you're asked to give the EPS or PDF file and this is usually for editing purposes I believe. Now if this is true and you have to give, how do you retain the original ownership to the file irrespective of someone editing it or whatever?

I looked at PDF password protection with no editing capabilities but that is a joke, you can circumvent it. So what is the best method here?

thanks
