When I try to import photos onto lightroom on my external hard dring using my pc the file preview images won't show up and at the end of importing there are no files in my folder. However. when I go to class we use Mac computers and I have no issues importing. I can't seem to find any answers from anyone. I'm the only one having the issue. We reformatting our external hard drives the first day of class so we could use them on both PCs and Macs. Not sure if its my computer not able to read the RAW format or what. If anyone has an idea please help! THANK YOU.
Lightroom 3.3 and the camera is a Canon Rebel t3. When I plug in my card or camera LR launches from my external hard drive. And you know how the images will show up so you can choose what to import and all that. Well, it says 'Preview Unavailable For This File.' where the image should be. But it will have the file info like IMG_1620_CR2, IMG_1621, etc. It will allow me to select import and it acts like its importing. However, after its finisished the folder will show 0 files and so does the previous import folder. I don't have any problem at school though. And they won't be there on the Mac either.
Well there you go - support for the Canon t3 wasn't introduced until Lr 3.4 - the version at school must be later than Lr 3.3.
The last version of Lr 3.x was 3.6 - if you install that, you'll be good.
