InDesign PDF Export problem

PDF Export in InDesign CS6 yields thin, light text. I need accurate rendering in pdf for hardcopy publication. Quality is imperative. Can you please help.

Thanks. As it turns out, I received a reply that solved the problem. It was a monitor setting in my Acrobat and Reader.
